Westlake BHS and Rosmini will face off in an all-North Shore boys’ “AA” final at the NZ Secondary Schools Championships in Nelson.
See updated draw and results here.
It’s a mouth-watering showdown between the defending champions (Rosmini) and their local rivals, led by new Tall Black star Tai Webster, with Westlake earning top seeding for this event with victory in qualifying last month.
Last night, Webster had 26 points and forward Jack Salt 23 as WBHS overcame Hutt Valley HS 91-73 in the first semifinal. Later, Rosmini had 24 points from Junior Tall Black guard Derone Raukawa, as they toppled hometown favourites Nayland 87-76.
Across in the girls’ draw, Hamilton GHS barely got past Rangitoto College 73-71, with Shemaiah Parai contributing 23 points for the winners and Penina Davidson 31 for the vanquished.
They’ll meet Mt Albert Grammar, who overcame Auckland Grammar 52-43 in the other semi, behind Kezeiah Lewis‘ 26 points.
