WBC final set for Porirua

Hutt Valley will host the 2013 Women’s Basketball Championship finals at Porirua’s Te Rauparaha Arena, June 6-8.
Other rounds have been scheduled for Rotorua (April 5-7) and Christchurch (May 3-5).
The fifth edition of the national women’s competition has attracted entries from 12 teams, including newcomers Tauranga City Coasters. All of this year’s teams have again put their hands up, although Waitakere West Auckland would compete as part of an Auckland outfit, along with Counties Manukau.
The 12 teams that have lodged expressions of interest are Kelvin Hotel Southland Pearls, Canterbury Wildcats, Taranaki Thunder, Rotorua Lady Vols, Waikato Wizards, Palmerston North Storm, Hutt Valley Flyers, Tauranga City Coasters, Auckland, Harbour Breeze, Oceana Otago Goldrush and defending champions Nelson Sparks.
