Besiktas Edges Bourg 103-99 in EuroCup Thriller

Besiktas pulled off a nail-biter on the road, beating Bourg 103-99 in Round 14 of the EuroCup. Both teams were near full strength and Besiktas even introduced Matt Thomas in his debut appearance for the club.
The game swung back and forth, but the decisive moments came in the fourth quarter. With Bourg up 98-97, Lemar Brynton hit a go-ahead two and then converted his free throws, which helped Besiktas close out the win. It was a hectic finish with several lead changes before the visitors sealed it.
Standouts for Besiktas were Ante Zizic with 26 points, Jonah Mathews with 21 and Lemar with 17. Bourg’s top contributors included Darius McGhee (25) and Both Gach (17). The victory moves Besiktas to 10-4 in Group B, right behind Bourg, who sit at 11-3.

Up next, Bourg travel to Chemnitz while Besiktas prepare to host Buducnost. In other EuroCup action, Venezia beat Slask Wroclaw 103-76 in Group A; that result puts Venezia at 8-6 and Slask at 4-10. Venezia will head to Hamburg next, and Slask will host Aris.
