Guerschon Yabusele Could Return to the EuroLeague
Deadline watch: teams showing interest
Panathinaikos is reportedly keeping a close eye on Guerschon Yabusele as the NBA trade deadline approaches. If he doesn’t land a new spot in the league by the deadline, the Greek club is prepared to step in and try to sign him. At the same time, Hapoel Tel Aviv has also been linked to Yabusele and is said to be in active talks.
Why a return to Europe makes sense
Yabusele’s NBA journey has been a mixed bag recently. After a solid season with Philadelphia, his second year in New York saw his minutes and role shrink under coach Mike Brown. That dip in opportunities has opened the door for a possible move back to Europe, where he has history and success.
He was part of Real Madrid’s 2023 EuroLeague title run and played a noticeable role in that playoff stretch. His time in Europe could offer more playing time and a bigger role than he’s getting in the NBA right now. Expect clarity after the trade deadline — if no NBA move comes through, a EuroLeague return looks increasingly likely.
