(VIDEO) Austin Reaves returns, Los Angeles Lakers beat Brooklyn Nets in commanding road win

The Los Angeles Lakers cruised to a 125-109 road victory over the Brooklyn Nets, asserting themselves early and never really letting the game get close. It was a strong team performance capped by the welcome return of Austin Reaves.

Lakers take control right away

Los Angeles set the tone from the opening whistle, opening the first quarter with a dominant 45-23 run and pushing a 69-40 lead by halftime. From there the Lakers managed the game comfortably, turning what could have been a tight contest into a decisive win.

Reaves returns and key contributors on both sides

Austin Reaves made his return after a December 26 injury, logging 21 minutes and adding 15 points — a timely boost for the Lakers as the season progresses. LeBron James led the team with 25 points and seven assists, while Jake LaRavia chipped in 18 points.

For Brooklyn, several players put up solid numbers, including a 21-point, 10-rebound outing from one of their top scorers. Day’Ron Sharpe had a strong all-around game, contributing 19 points, 14 rebounds and five assists, while other contributors added points to keep the Nets competitive.

Standing-wise, Brooklyn remains near the bottom of the Eastern Conference with a stretch of tough results, while the Lakers sit comfortably in the playoff picture in the West. The Nets head to Orlando for their next game, and Los Angeles returns home to face Philadelphia.
