Knicks Beat Spurs 114-89 Despite Wembanyama’s Double-Double
Game recap
Madison Square Garden hosted a lively matchup where the Knicks pulled away for a comfortable 114-89 win over the Spurs. Jalen Brunson set the tone in the first half, and although Victor Wembanyama battled hard, his efforts weren’t enough to keep San Antonio in it.
The turning point came early in the third quarter when Mikal Bridges poured in 17 points in the period, helping New York seize control. From that stretch the Knicks extended their lead and never looked back, snapping San Antonio’s 11-game winning streak.
Standout performances and next up
Mikal Bridges led the way with a 25-point outing, adding rebounds and several steals while shooting efficiently. Brunson finished with 24 points and seven assists, and Karl-Anthony Towns contributed a solid double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.
On the Spurs’ side, Victor Wembanyama produced a double-double of his own, finishing with 25 points and 13 rebounds, but he didn’t get enough support to turn the result around.
Next on the schedule, the Knicks head north to face the Toronto Raptors, while the Spurs will travel to take on the Philadelphia 76ers.
