Draymond Reacts to Damian Lillard’s Insane Shooting Workout

Green stunned by Lillard’s practice session

On his podcast, Draymond Green spent a segment praising Damian Lillard’s relentless work in rehab. Lillard, sidelined since 2025 after a torn left Achilles, has been grinding through an enormous shot routine as part of his recovery — even logging a goal of 100,000 made shots before returning to game action.

Recently shared training footage showed Lillard sinking an astonishing number of triples in one session: roughly 1,100 makes out of about 1,168 attempts, which comes out to roughly 94 percent. Green said he’s never seen that kind of volume and accuracy in the gym, and made it clear this kind of dedication belongs to Lillard alone rather than any comparison to others.

Why it matters for his comeback

An Achilles tear is one of the toughest injuries to recover from, and the physical side is just part of it. Green highlighted how much mental grit and repetition it takes to get back to elite shooting form after that kind of setback. Lillard still needs to rebuild leg strength and conditioning, but the shooting fundamentals look locked in.

When he regains full strength, opposing defenses should be bracing for a very dangerous offensive player. For now it’s a final stretch of rehab and conditioning, but the combination of his shooting volume and determination suggests his return will be a major story and a difficult matchup for any team that has to guard him.
