Jaylen Brown Matches Larry Bird with Historic Performance
Brown’s big night despite Celtics’ loss
Even though the Celtics fell to the Timberwolves, Jaylen Brown put on a memorable show. In just 34 minutes he scored 41 points, dished seven assists, grabbed six rebounds, made five steals and added one block. He shot 17-of-32 from the field, knocked down 5-of-11 from three and went 2-of-4 at the free-throw line.
A rare feat in Celtics history
That all-around performance put Brown into rare company: he became only the second player in franchise history to record at least 40 points, five rebounds, five assists and five steals in a single game. The only other Celt to hit those marks was Larry Bird, who did it twice during his career.
It was a reminder of Brown’s ability to impact the game on both ends of the court — a standout individual effort even if the result didn’t go Boston’s way.
