Dusan Alimpijevic unsure about NBA Europe project
Alimpijevic keeps focus on the EuroCup
Besiktas coach Dusan Alimpijevic was noncommittal when asked about the NBA’s plans for Europe after his team’s 98-96 loss to the London Lions in EuroCup action. He said he preferred to talk about the competition at hand — the EuroCup — rather than speculate about future NBA initiatives.
That said, Alimpijevic did point out an observation: London appears to be included in the NBA Europe discussions, while cities like Belgrade are not. He said he hadn’t heard of any Serbian clubs being considered and admitted he wasn’t sure what shape the whole project will take. For now, he prefers to wait and see how things develop.
Team form and what’s next
Besiktas sit second in their EuroCup group with an 8-3 record after the loss, while the London Lions are seventh at 5-6. Alimpijevic and his side will quickly turn their attention back to domestic matters, with a league game against Tofas scheduled for Saturday at 1:30 pm.
On a related note, recent EuroLeague fantasy rounds produced a few standout performances — players like McKinley Wright, Will Clyburn and Nikola Milutinov posted strong returns that helped many fantasy squads. Meanwhile, several interviews with figures across European basketball have been circulating, covering topics from defensive priorities to coaching changes and the relationship between the EuroLeague and the NBA.
