Sacramento Kings vs Cleveland Cavaliers — Preview & Prediction (Feb. 07, 2026)
Game overview and team form
The Sacramento Kings are going through a brutal stretch, currently mired in an 11-game losing streak and sitting near the bottom of the league with a 12–41 record. Many of those defeats have been close — four of their last five losses came by four points or fewer — but the results haven’t gone their way. In their most recent outing they fell 114–111 to the Los Angeles Clippers, a game hurt by poor three-point shooting and a lack of offense from several veteran scorers.
Off the court, the Kings have been active in trade talks and made a few moves, but the overall outlook hasn’t improved much. They kept their star big man, and also added some new pieces who are still settling in. At this point the team looks like it’s playing out the string a bit, and a high draft pick next summer could be the best way to reset the roster.
The Cleveland Cavaliers, on the other hand, look like they’re clicking again. They’ve won seven of their last eight games, including convincing road wins over Portland and the Clippers, and currently hold a 31–21 record that puts them near the top of the Eastern Conference. A flurry of trades has reshaped their roster — adding a veteran scorer and extra ball-handling options — and those newcomers have already started to contribute.
Offensively the Cavs remain dangerous (they rank among the league’s better offensive teams), and the extra playmakers should only help. Their defense is a little more susceptible — around the middle of the pack — but if the new pieces find chemistry the offense could carry them through nights where the defense slips.
Head-to-head, injuries and prediction
These teams already met once this season, with Cleveland taking a 123–118 victory at home.
Injury notes: Sacramento will be without Keegan Murray, while Domantas Sabonis and De’Andre Hunter are listed as questionable. Cleveland is missing Max Strus and Evan Mobley, and James Harden and Dean Wade are listed as questionable.
Prediction: The Cavs look healthier in form and depth right now, and the new additions should be motivated to make an impact. Given Sacramento’s prolonged slump and Cleveland’s recent run of wins, expect the Cavaliers to control this one and win by a comfortable margin.
