Valencia signs former NBA forward Mo Gueye

New addition to Valencia’s EuroLeague roster

Valencia has confirmed the signing of Senegalese-American forward Mo Gueye, who has put pen to paper on a contract running through June 30, 2027. The 2.06m forward arrives from the United States and will be making his first move into European basketball as Valencia prepares for the new EuroLeague season.

Gueye spent the recent seasons splitting time between the NBA and the G League, getting looks from organizations including the Toronto Raptors, Charlotte Hornets and Chicago Bulls. Last season he played mainly for the Windy City Bulls, Chicago’s G League affiliate, and also made a couple of appearances with the NBA club.

His journey so far and what he brings

Born in Staten Island, New York, Gueye began at Monroe College before moving on to Stony Brook and later Pittsburgh for his NCAA career. At Stony Brook he made a name for himself on the defensive end, earning conference Defensive Player of the Year honors and becoming one of the program’s top shot blockers.

After going undrafted, Gueye kept developing in the G League and earned NBA call-ups along the way. He’s known for his athleticism, rim protection and ability to defend multiple positions, offering Valencia more defensive versatility and energy around the rim.

The signing comes as Valencia reshapes the squad following one of the club’s most successful campaigns — winning the Liga ACB title and reaching the EuroLeague Final Four. The offseason has seen a number of departures, and Gueye joins recent additions such as TJ Shorts and Mario Saint-Supery as the club looks to refresh its roster for the challenges ahead. Fans will be keen to see how Gueye adapts to the European game and how his physical, defensive style fits into Valencia’s rotation.
