Dusan Alimpijevic: I’m giving all my passion and emotion to Besiktas

Strong finish seals another win

Besiktas kept their momentum going with a EuroCup victory over Panionios in Round 9, extending their streak to six straight wins across all competitions. Coach Dusan Alimpijevic said the team battled through a tricky patch after the international break and weren’t at their best for much of the game, but they found the necessary toughness and aggression in the fourth quarter to pull away.

He highlighted that games right after a break can be unpredictable, so getting this result felt especially important. The team’s late intensity and defensive grit were the turning points that secured the win.

Electric crowd and looking ahead

Alimpijevic praised the home crowd, calling the arena atmosphere incredible and saying he feels fortunate to coach at a club with such devoted supporters. He noted that the fans have consistently packed the arena for the past two and a half years and that the club’s games are becoming must-see events.

The coach also reflected on his personal bond with the supporters, describing it as something he’s very proud of and saying he pours all his passion and emotion into the team. He encouraged fans to come out for the upcoming game against Lietkabelis on Tuesday to help create another great atmosphere.

When asked about possible roster changes, Alimpijevic acknowledged that transfer talk often pops up when results are questioned. He explained that the coaching staff and management monitor the situation closely and that any decision on signings would be made together with the club’s leadership.
