Ivica Zubac double-double not enough for Clippers, great debut by Jalen Green

Game recap

The Suns edged out the Clippers 115–102 after a wild third quarter flipped the game. Los Angeles kept it close through the first half and took a 3-point lead into the break, largely thanks to Ivica Zubac’s strong inside work — he scored 16 of his points in the first 24 minutes.

Everything changed after halftime. The Clippers were outscored 23–40 in the third quarter, surrendered a double-digit deficit and couldn’t claw their way back in the fourth.

Standouts and takeaway

Rookie-ish energy took center stage as Jalen Green made a splash in his Suns debut. In just 23 minutes he poured in 29 points and helped swing momentum in Phoenix’s favor. Devin Booker added 24 points and Grayson Allen chipped in 18. On the Clippers’ side Zubac finished with a solid 23 points and 11 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough.

The result leaves Phoenix at 4–5 on the season; the Clippers have the same number of losses but one fewer win. The Suns will look to build off the third-quarter surge, while the Clippers need to tighten up their defense and find a way to avoid the kind of collapse that decided this matchup.
