Patrick Beverley opens surprising new chapter in France
Boulazac adds veteran guard
Former NBA All-Defensive guard Patrick Beverley has signed with French club Boulazac for the 2026/27 season, extending his run in European basketball. The Dordogne-based side added the experienced veteran to help their push toward the playoffs after finishing 12th in LNB Pro A last season with a 12-18 record, two spots shy of the play-in places.
The signing brings a gritty, on-ball defender and veteran leader to a roster that could use a boost both on and off the court as it eyes improvement next year.
A veteran presence — career recap
Beverley spent the past two seasons in Europe, playing for Hapoel Tel Aviv until February 2025 and then for PAOK during the 2025/26 campaign in Thessaloniki. For PAOK he appeared in eight Greek Basket League regular-season games, averaging 7.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists, and in nine FIBA Europe Cup games he averaged 9.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists while helping the team reach the competition’s final.
Earlier in his career he also had stints in Europe with Dnipro, Olympiacos and Spartak St. Petersburg before breaking through in the NBA with the Houston Rockets from 2013 to 2017. He earned a place on the NBA All-Defensive First Team in his final season with Houston, then spent four seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers followed by stops with the Timberwolves, Lakers, Bulls, 76ers and Bucks.
Across his NBA career Beverley played in 666 regular-season games, averaging 8.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. Boulazac will be hoping that his experience and intensity help them climb the standings next season.
