Official: Real Madrid Signs Alex Len

                Len returns to Europe
Real Madrid have completed the signing of Ukrainian center Alex Len. The 30-year-old (2.13 m) has agreed to a multi-year deal, marking his return to European basketball after more than ten years in the NBA.
What he brings to the team
Len was the fifth overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft and spent the bulk of his career in the league, turning out for teams such as the Phoenix Suns, Atlanta Hawks, Sacramento Kings, Toronto Raptors, Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Lakers. Across his NBA career he averaged roughly 6.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, building a reputation as a steady defender and a reliable presence around the rim.
With Bruno Fernando having moved on to another club, Len is expected to step right into the starting center spot in coach Sergio Scariolo’s rotation. His size, rim protection and veteran experience should give Madrid a stronger interior look on both ends of the floor, and he should help anchor pick-and-roll coverages while providing toughness in the paint.
Fans can expect a physical, experienced big who knows how to contribute without needing to dominate the offense. Len’s return to Europe will be one to watch as Real Madrid aims to compete at the highest level domestically and in continental play.
