Night to forget for Malachi Flynn as Śląsk outlasts Bahçeşehir 99–91
Śląsk pulled off a surprise win over Bahçeşehir in EuroCup Round 8, edging out the Turkish side 99–91. What began as a dominant start for Bahçeşehir turned into a tough night for their backcourt, especially Malachi Flynn, who struggled from deep.
How the game unfolded
Bahçeşehir exploded out of the gate and led 30–20 after the opening quarter, largely thanks to early offense from Flynn and his teammates. But Śląsk tightened up on defense in the second quarter and managed to cut the halftime gap to just three points.
Momentum swung early in the second half when Śląsk ripped off an 11–0 run between quarters to grab their first lead. The game stayed tight through the third, with both teams exchanging blows and the margin staying close. With about seven minutes left and the score level at 73–73, Śląsk put together an 18–4 burst that pushed the lead into double digits. Bahçeşehir showed fight — Caleb Homesley scored ten straight points at one point to bring them back within six — but they couldn’t complete the comeback.
