Durant’s Best Night in Rockets Uniform Lifts Houston Over Timberwolves, 110–105

Durant shines as Rockets hang on

The Houston Rockets edged the Minnesota Timberwolves 110–105 at home thanks to a dominant outing from Kevin Durant. He poured in 39 points, drilling a season-high six three-pointers and taking over late — scoring 14 points in the fourth quarter while going a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line in that period. It was a big bounce-back after a rough shooting night against Oklahoma City a few games earlier.

Alperen Sengun was a major factor alongside Durant, turning in a 25-point, 14-rebound double-double that helped control the glass and create space for Houston’s offense. Reed Sheppard also hit four of his six attempts from long range, and those perimeter shots proved important in a close game.

Timberwolves fight without Edwards, what’s next for both clubs

Minnesota was shorthanded, missing Anthony Edwards and backup guard Terrence Shannon Jr., which put more of the scoring burden on others. Julius Randle stepped up with a 39-point effort, and Naz Reid provided a 25-point, 10-rebound double-double off the bench, but that wasn’t enough to overcome Houston’s late execution.

Free throws were a struggle for both teams — each shot under 60% from the stripe — and that sloppy shooting kept the game tight down the stretch. Rudy Gobert notably went just 2-for-10 at the line, which hurt Minnesota in a few key moments.

With the win Houston improved to 24–15 and will host the New Orleans Pelicans next. Minnesota falls to 27–15 and heads on the road for a matchup with the San Antonio Spurs.
