Cooper Flagg Day-to-Day After Left Shoulder Soreness
Flagg’s injury update
Cooper Flagg left Monday night’s 101–94 loss to Oklahoma City with soreness in his left shoulder. He said he’ll get scans just to be safe, but described the issue as minor — something he plans to ice and rehab while the medical staff keeps an eye on it.
He also had an off night with his shot in that game, but the shoulder complaint seems to be the bigger immediate concern. The rookie’s tone after the game was upbeat and cautious rather than alarmed.
Outlook for the rookie
Flagg arrived in the NBA as the No. 1 pick after a standout high school career and carries plenty of expectations. Early-season hiccups, whether a shooting slump or a little soreness, are common for young players adjusting to the pro game.
The Mavericks will use scans and routine treatment to determine how quickly he can return to full duty. For now the status is day-to-day, and Flagg sounds ready to follow the recovery plan and get back on the court.
