Anadolu Efes part ways with Igor Kokoskov
Decision follows heavy EuroLeague defeat
Anadolu Efes has confirmed that Igor Kokoskov will no longer serve as the club’s head coach. The announcement came a day after a lopsided 102-66 loss in Monaco. The club released a short message thanking Kokoskov for his contributions and wishing him well; in the meantime the coaching staff will handle duties until a permanent replacement is named.
Struggles this season and injury problems
The change of leadership wasn’t a total surprise — speculation about Kokoskov’s future had been circulating for a while. Efes has struggled to meet expectations this season, sitting at 5-8 in the EuroLeague while holding a 6-3 record in the Turkish Super League. Injuries have also taken a toll, leaving the squad shorthanded at times and contributing to inconsistent performances.
The club now faces a search for a new head coach as it looks to stabilize results and move forward in both domestic and continental competitions.
