Hezonja’s night fuels the win
Real Madrid beat San Pablo Burgos 94–78 in Liga Endesa Round 26, with Mario Hezonja putting on a strong show. Madrid jumped out early to a 9–18 lead, but Burgos fought back to cut the gap to five by the end of the first quarter.
Early in the second, Madrid pushed ahead again by nine, only for Burgos to respond with a 13–2 burst that gave them their first lead. The visitors recovered and went into halftime holding a four-point advantage.
Madrid controlled the third quarter, extending the margin to as many as 13. Burgos trimmed it to single digits late, but Real Madrid opened the fourth with a big run that put the game out of reach and allowed them to close it out comfortably.

The victory keeps Real Madrid firmly on top of the Liga Endesa standings with 23 wins and 2 losses, while Valencia trails with four more defeats. San Pablo Burgos sit 15th with 17 wins, level with Gran Canaria and Andorra; Andorra currently occupy the first relegation spot. Burgos has a slight scheduling advantage, having played one game fewer.
Looking ahead in the EuroLeague, Real Madrid will host Crvena zvezda in the final round. Madrid have already secured a top-six finish — they can’t drop out of that group nor catch Olympiacos for first, as Olympiacos is two wins clear.
